Viruses
Virus is program that loads onto your computer with letting you know. Viruses make your computer work against you. some viruses can replicate themselves.. Viruses are all man made. Viruses replicate themselves and take up all the memory space on your computer so your computer would come to a halt. There are even worse viruses, they spread through the network and passes securities system.
In 1987 a virus infected Arpanet. Arpanet is a system used by the department of defense and many universities. Ever since that virus, many anti virus software were made. These programs check your computer system for best known viruses.

There are 3 main cases of viruses. File infectors, boot records infectors, and macro viruses. File infectors are viruses that attach themselves to files. And whenever a file is loaded the virus is also loaded. Other file infectors are attached to emails. Boot records are viruses that infect on the systems codes. Macro viruses are the most common viruses. And they do the least damages. Macro viruses infect Microsoft word, its randomly puts in words.The best way to prevent from getting a viruses is knowing where your files are coming from and your programs. But it is usually hard to find and know all your files. That why they have programs that can scan through your emails and files for viruses and prevent viruses from coming in.

A trojans horse program purposely does something that the user does not want to. But trojans are not viruses they cant replicate themselves but they are as bad as a virus.

Some trojans are programmed to delete your files. But some are just there to annoy you, they can run random programs are add weird icons onto your computer for no reason. You usually get trojan horses when you download programs.
The first way to protect yourself from trojans is getting an anti virus. And you must keep it up to date all the time. The second is installing firewall. A firewall is a program that stops any unauthorized programs. Trojans are the most common viruses but they are extremely hard to remove.
Trojans are usually hidden. They are usually attached to emails and they usually install onto your computer once you open the emails with the trojans that are attached to it. Sometime they can be hidden into programs that look useful and are free to install.

Computer Worms are viruses that reside in the active memory of a computer and duplicate themselves. They may send copies of themselves to other computers, such as through emails.

Phishing is usually attached to emails. Pretends to be a useful soft ware so the user would install it to his/her computer. Once its installed is takes the users private information. Usually takes credit cards number, so the website they send are website that ask you to update your credit card number. It could be a fake amazon web.
